| Third, most present-day commercially-harvested fruit is loaded with toxic chemicals such as preservatives, artificial colorings, pesticide sprays, and wax. Some of these are bound to be consumed because the whole fruit, skin and all, is squeezed by powerful presses in the extraction process.
All Juicers Are Not Equal
Juicing machines that remove most or all of the fiber from fruit and vegetables also remove food value along with the pulp. The more moisture there is in the pulp, the more nutrients there are in the discarded fiber. |

Reductions in sugary foods and foods with artificial colors and preservatives have been shown in scientific studies to help ADHD. Get your kid involved in athletics. If after several months there is no improvement, you may need to try alternatives. Many schools offer team appointments with your child's teacher, social worker, and psychologist. In public schools that kind of intervention can take years. |
| After initial behavioral testing and diagnosis, all of the children were fed a diet of whole, fresh foods with no artificial food colorings or chemical preservatives for one week, after which their behavior improved significantly. The next week the researchers continued the whole-food diet but also gave the children capsules containing a mixture of artificial colorings, the preservative benzoate, or nothing. The behavior of the children who consumed the artificial colors or the preservative was substantially worse than when they were eating only the whole-food diet. |

You get it home, you are reading the ingredients, and there are all these parabens and chemical preservatives. It seems like almost half of the ingredients are not natural. It seems so wrong to call your products natural just because you use a few botanical ingredients.
Mike: Yes, we see that a lot in the marketplace. Something will be labeled herbal skin care or the word "herbal" will be in it and it is only one herb. It is not even the main ingredient. It is still mineral oil based stuff many of the times. I find that outrageous as well. |

Identifying Additives
Food companies sometimes seem to the outsider to be playing God with our health and our lives because of their use of additives, preservatives and artificial colourings. However, consumers have some help, as there are now government guidelines controlling food labelling. All ingredients in a manufactured food must be listed on the label or packaging somewhere in descending order by weight. For those of us who are asthmatic and allergic to certain additives, or who are following a restricted diet, knowledge of the ingredients is vital. |

NUTRITIONAL HOME RUNS TO HEALTH
In a baseball game, there is nothing that wins the game faster than home-runs. It's the same in winning the health game. Reversing degenerative disease conditions and regaining good health can be achieved more quickly by doing those things that have a very influential impact on the body's ability to heal.
It's really quite simple. |

Drinking aspartame is sort of like poisoning your brain with chemical preservatives. That's great if you're trying to embalm yourself, but not so good if you actually plan to use your brain for anything useful.
Things that enhance the power of your intention
Once you're free of the substances interfering with your power of intention, you can move on to enhancing your nervous system health with proper supportive substances. Here are the most important items to consider:

Cough syrup and over-the-counter medicines
Nearly all children's over-the-counter medicines contain multiple toxic substances such as chemical sweeteners, preservatives and additives. Cough syrup, in particular, has been scientifically proven to be absolutely worthless in preventing coughs. Many "children's" medicines are actually more toxic than their adult counterparts because they're sweetened up and cosmetically enhanced with artificial colors made from petrochemicals. Yet parents poison their children every day with over-the-counter medicine.

Another potential sensitivity, that protects plant species from becoming extinct, is a reaction to toxic salicylates—natural preservatives stored in the bark, leaves, roots and seeds of plants and found in many foods. In vegetables, they're mostly concentrated in the peels and rinds or the outer leaves. The salicylate content in fruit is highest when the fruit is not fully ripened yet, and decreases during the ripening process. Properly sun-ripened fruits (cooked by the sun), versus those ripened after they are harvested, have great beneficial effects on the body. |
| To turn water into butter, you have to mix it with a thickening agent like gelatin, an emulsifier that permits mixing fat with water, and then add artificial coloring, aromas, and preservatives. It is difficult, though, for a layperson to detect from the labels whether a product has been manipulated in this way. Still there is one way to find out. Place the light butter or light margarine in your frying pan and see what happens. The artificial fats quickly disintegrate and turn into what they really are — mostly water.
However, not all food imitations can be enriched with water. |
| Many children are highly allergic to artificial colorings and preservatives, soft drinks, packaged fruit juices, and foremost of all, artificial sweeteners that may cause brain damage. As discussed previously, artificial sweeteners are found in most unnatural, sweet- tasting foods and drinks.
Most clinical tests on new drugs are financed by the pharmaceutical industry, and nearly all information supplied to doctors about the products' effects and benefits comes from the drug companies. |

Chemical preservatives and sweeteners? With the American population more diseased than ever before in the history of human civilization, and drug companies inundating the people with deadly chemicals, I find it astounding that health authorities would see one teenager with TB as such a huge threat that they have to arrest him at gunpoint. Doesn't this seem a bit strange to you? |

They are used as preservatives in cosmetics, deodorants and food. Concern has arisen that these estrogen sources may increase the risk for breast cancer. [Journal Applied Toxicology 24: 167-765, 2004] Of course suspicions such as these fuel many research grants for toxicologists, who like to "blow smoke" on these issues.
The use of parabens in underarm deodorants has come into question because of proximity to the breast during application and its estrogen-like effects. [Journal Applied Toxicology 24: 5-13,2004]
Parabens are generally regarded as safe. |

Microwaves make malnutrition virtually automatic, and being exposed to toxic chemicals is easy to accomplish by simply eating processed foods (which are universally manufactured with the addition of toxic chemicals that act as preservatives, colorings, flavor enhancers and so on).
Microwaving is, technically, a form of food irradiation. I find it interesting that people who say that would never eat "irradiated" food have no hesitation about microwaving their food. It's the same thing (just a different wavelength of radiation). In fact, microwaves were originally called "radar ranges. |

Aloe vera as a natural food preservative
A thin layer of aloe vera gel can be used as a natural food preservative, eliminating the need for chemical preservatives. Research conducted by Daniel Valero, Ph.D., of the University of Miguel Hernández in Alicante, Spain, showed that a thin layer of aloe vera gel was highly effective in preserving foods. For the experiment, they dipped table grapes into an aloe vera gel, then stored them at refrigerator temperatures. Untreated table graped went bad in 7 days, but the grapes dipped in aloe vera stayed fresh and tast for as astonishing 35 days! |

One report reveals 450 ingredients added to tobacco as flavorings, solvents, preservatives and binders. [Food Chemistry Toxicology 42: S3-37, 2004] Tobacco companies have added levulinic acid to cigarettes to enhance the habit-forming effect of nicotine. Levulinic acid reduces the pH of tobacco smoke, making it easier for smokers to inhale cigarette smoke deeper into the lungs. [Nicotine Tobacco Research 7: 761-71, 2005] Cigarette manufacturers may even be able to skirt around laws that limit nicotine content by using nicotine analogs (nicotine-like molecules). |

You will see in the future definitely, for example, vanities that are refrigerated because with natural products you are not using chemical preservatives and parabens and such things. They will have a shelf life just as an apple has a shelf life. It has a certain amount of energy and then it begins to decay.
When you keep your products refrigerated it helps them last a lot longer. I think that in the future you will definitely be seeing more products that do not have the chemical ingredients and stabilizers. |

Vaccination—Attack on Your Body, Brain and Spirit
Vaccines are composed of protein, bacterial and viral material, as well as preservatives, neutralizers, and carrying agents. The vaccine against bacterial meningitis is made from the brains and heart of cows among other highly toxic components. Alarmed by the outbreak of mad cow's disease, the Italian authorities ordered the seizure of the vaccine in January 1997 for fear it could cause the human version of the disease. |
